We pride ourselves on creating every design from scratch in our Pilot Mill studio. Each season, our talented team of designers sits down and talks about themes and influences. They gather imagery, sketch ideas and explore everything from classic cars, Hollywood heroes, blues and jazz to vintage watches. On their tablets, they then draw every print by hand, combining smaller snippets into a cohesive expression that plays off the selected seasonal palette.

After starting out simply, our team now pursues more than 70 unique designs every season, spanning knit polos and shirts to swim trunks. From everyone’s favorite tomato-based brunch cocktail to a riff on America’s pastime, sometimes throwing an idea against the wall just happens to stick.
